Ubuntu on the Scroll - a possibility?

Was playing around with my XOOM and I found that you could put Ubuntu on it. Turns out that you can put Ubuntu on any Android device with a few steps. Works on my phone too.

Now, I know my Scroll is retired, but...you know what I'm going to say...would this work? And has anyone got a Scroll that they can test?
It can't brick your device, and it needs to be rooted. Here's the link for Ubuntu:

Test it out, you'll need a sdcard (That's what it says...) and Terminal Emulator and android-vnc-viewer. Works when WiFi is off and is very smooth. Microsoft Office is built in (OpenOffice.org) and internet works when you have it on. This is a leap forward for Scroll development! (Though I won't be there to enjoy it...maybe I need to dig out my Scroll? )

According to an article on the RaspberryPi I was reading this evening, Canonical are supporting Cortex-class ARM processors and older ones up to Ubuntu 9.04 (Jaunty). Not sure if this helps.

Yes..You can disable the overlay of scroll in Ubuntu. For disabling the scroll bars you have to follow two or three steps :
1. Open the terminal.
2.Copy/Paste the following commands :
sudo su
echo "export LIBOVERLAY_SCROLLBAR=0" > /etc/X11/Xsession.d/80overlayscrollbars
3.Restart your computer.
