Bollocks, didn't work :(

still got 0.00B of data storage, no /cache or /data mounted, and reboots just dump me into the first-boot screen.

Actually - just looked at nandd.img vs my nand_dd.img - the date modified times are identical are you sure you've not just sent my file back to me?? :)

I made a new copy, exactly the same size as the nandd.img you supplied, 256Mb, i doubt the 350Mb one will flash, because i suspect your nandd is only 256Mb in size.

Code: Select all
C:\Users\John\Desktop\Stock Recovery>adb shell
~ # dd if=dev/block/nandd of=/sdcard/system.img bs=268435456 count=1
dd if=dev/block/nandd of=/sdcard/system.img bs=268435456 count=1
1+0 records in
1+0 records out
268435456 bytes (256.0MB) copied, 56.147673 seconds, 4.6MB/s

Lol, should have checked the forum first (But i'm at work, so it's awkward...) anyway, just flashed your orignal huge one in my lunch break.

It moaned about running out of space (as i suspected, but i figured worst case i'd have to go back in to recovery which doesn't use the system partition) - but it did work! (I'd have thought the end of the image is all blank space)

Tablet now boots. /data and /cache are in the mount table, and i moved the clock ont he desktop, restarted, and found it where i left it :D

My scroll extreme is no longer brokened! Also, not sure what you did to restore my system partition, but you've left behind a bunch of the busybox stuff i reckon broke it in the first place - meaning i have a working tablet, and the fiddling tools i wanted in the first place. Win!

Cheers a million dude, all i need to do now if find a wifi hotspot and start downloading my apps again.

Excellent :) lol well I'm glad we got it sorted for you. Sorry I couldn't do it any quicker lol
Now what you need is CWM so if you do make a mistake you can just do a restore ;)
