He has just released a new ROM based on AOKP.

Does anybody know much about AOKP and are there any benefits to using it over CM9?

You can get it here: http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/34824-rom-aokp/

The best difference so far is that FINALLY my Extreme no longer turns into a gibbering stuttery wreck whenever I ask it to stream video from Iplayer or 4OD :-)

Thumbs up from me so far but I have only installed it 20 minutes ago - it's looking good though :-))

I have had it on since about mid day yesterday so far seems very slick and stable couple of downsides
on My 7" scroll Excel the apect ratio is out so the top row of apps on the homescreen are half off the screen need to fix that!
and the battery stats show that Mobile standby is using 75% of battery usage so need to get rid of that battery life so far has been pretty good
left on over night used 10% probably the cell standby
bbc iplayer is good and you can download the Tesco app (English)
played a streming film over wireless Lan using Mx player no problem
and using the Apollo music app from Cyanogen9 sound is very good

i used the momo9 compatability zip

Looks like the next revision is out guys n gals :) aokp_20120623.zip is out there with these additions:

2012-06-23
* added: "special coordinate system" needed for some gsensors
* added: ethernet settings (because of SystemUI force close I had to remove the ethernet icon from the system bar but it should work anyway, feedbacks are welcome)
* added: lock rotation to landscape when HDMI cable is plugged in (can be disabled from settings)
* added: HDMI resolution selector
* added: devlistener, a small daemon to set write permissions for supported usb bluetooth dongles
* removed: u3gmonitor (tell me if your 3g dongle was working with previous version and now it doesn't)
* changed: build fingerprint to match SGS2
(copied from SlateDroid)

Just downloding it now..........

So I've been using the tablet as normal with the new aokp 20120623 rom, to be honest there isn't much in it unless you love being a control freak :) All my apps are working ok, i have an issue with playing Iplayer through the Opera browswer as it thinks i'm in another country lol but plays fine through the stock browser.

I've not fiddled too much with the settings as i didn't want to mess it up prior to checking stuff out but you can customise pretty much everything!! My SO keyboard works fine so that's a relief too, if i had to mention something then it could only be the wireless signal strength seemed better on the CM9 and i preferred the CyanogenMod wallpapers over that of the pink unicorn lol

Apparently Piers did a battery test and where the cm9 rom got 9 hours playing HD video constantly on a full charge, this new AOKP rom only got 6. If thats the case I may just revert back to cm9 as I would rather have the battery life over the customisation.
