I sent my scroll excel back because of dust in the screen but after only a week the new one they sent me was starting to do the same, so I opened it up to see if i could clean the dust out and I was pretty successful. getting into the scroll is pretty easy, as you would think, you take out the 2 screws at the base of the unit, then you can pop the back off (be careful as there are wires connecting the motherboard to the speaker). Its very simple inside the excel with there only being 3 major components, the screen, the battery and the motherboard, which is surprisingly small. Unscrew all the screws holding in the screen, and then you will have to unscrew the motherboard, because the last screw for the screen is under it (you may have to remove, or at least just peel back a few bits of tape) gently lift the motherboard, just a little so you can get to that. The WiFi antenna is glued to the case, so very gently peel that off leaving it attached to the back of the screen, you can now lift out the screen and clean away the dust, be careful when lifting out the screen because there is a ribbon cable for the touch screen. Obviously clean the screen in a relatively dust-free environment, and maybe wear a shower cap if you have problems with dandruff. XD
