How to enter Maintenance Mode on the Scroll Tablet PC

Postby admin » December 29th, 2010, 10:07 am

This tip comes from user 'roguelj' and is as follows:

I have found out that you can enter maintenance mode by holding volume up when you power up. Press home when in maintenance mode to get to the menu. You can't do a lot from this menu at the moment, but I guess this is where we would perform the upgrade from.

Have fun checking that out ;)

this is a standard thing for android devices, on the legend and the desire you press the volume down. for a manual update you usually put it on the root of the sdcard called update.zip as you will see on the menu and select that option.

You can also do it from adb:

Code: Select all
./adb-linux reboot recovery

There's also a command line option for bootloader:

Code: Select all
./adb-linux reboot bootloader

But all this does is make the Scroll freeze on the splash screen upon restarting.

Aha, just found out that:

Code: Select all
./adb-linux reboot bootloader

Allows you to run commands such as:

Code: Select all
./fastboot-linux flash recovery recovery.img

Which, incidentally, is how I managed to install Clockworkmod.

Also, there is a key combination to enter this mode, but I can't remember it at the moment...
