Update: I didn't try to go back to 1.01. I rooted the Scroll will Z4root (after much arguing from Kaspersky saying there was a Linux trojan in "Rage Against The Cage" - had to disable Kaspersky to even be allowed to download the file) then I installed the new signed YouTube apk available elsewhere in the forum and it works perfectly again, woohoo! My next bold move will be to either dump the phone stuff to get a bit more life out of the battery, or maybe to just wait for some kind genius to make a working Android 2.2 or 2.3 available.

Indeed! It was quite a nerve wracking experience after bricking my phone last week doing something similar! I'm happy again.

Ive cleared every thing in root explorer, and in setting, manage apps, but i still have two showing in app installer which i have uninstalled put still show. Is there a way to use terminal emulator to remove all you tube bits. At the moment even if i use the full you tube site i get a message force close. I have used the search but i cant find any thing that helps
