Wi-Fi hot spot

Postby pwilko123 » January 8th, 2011, 10:38 pm

Hi All

Not really a trick but i have conected by scroll to my HTC Desire (Froyo) using the Desires mobile Wi-Fi hot spot application. Have to say with this enabled the lack of mobile network functionality with the scroll is not an issue for mobile internet as the connction speed through the mobile is excellant (assuming your mobile signal is good).

If anyone has a Windows Mobile phone, could you share which WiFi hotspot app you are using, mine broadcasts an Ad-Hoc signal which the scroll can not see

Maybe we have to connect our Windows Mobiles to our Laptops, connect to 3G, Share the 3G to the Laptop via USB, then make a Windows 7 Wireless HotSpot with the laptop's Wireless card, and connect the scroll to the Laptops WiFi Hotspot.

lol, That would be a sight, A Scroll Tablet Wirelessly Connected to a Laptop, Connected to a Windows Mobile via USB, Connected to 3G.

hehe

if there's a solution to this problem i'd really appreciate it. I'm trying to use my Nokia N8 to supply a wireless hotspot for my scroll. Obv. this is only ad hoc. I tried one of the supplied solutions, amending the wpa_supplicant file in /data/misc/wifi but ended having to factory reset after having no wifi at all.

I haven't bought a Scroll yet, however using it with a MiFi was an important requirement. Thanks for the info.
