i have found a way to root the scroll basic plus v2 on ics 4.0

it sometimes takes a few tries for it to take but it does work have tried on 2 tablets and one was rooted first go the second took 3 tries
the tool i used is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1886460
this may work on some of the newer scroll tablets running ics 4.0 as well but i am NOT responsible for any damage that may happen from using this tool

also to install the google play store once rooted the instructions used for the kindle fire hd work for this tablet and possibly the other scroll basic tablets

scroll exel 2
scroll basic plus v1
scroll basic plus v2
scroll pocket

will be ordering more to test out will keep you posted

Excellent finds there neural I have made this a sticky

i can confirm the google play store installing will work on virtually any android tablet as long as you have root and superuser permissions
also an interesting note the root process for the kindle fire hd will also work on this tablet

update:
this root process will work on any of scroll options tablets with ics installed now tested on 3 different versions of the tablets
there is also an updated version of the scroll basic plus v2 which comes pre rooted and with google play store already installed it is available from here http://cpc.farnell.com/storage-options/55509/scroll-basic-plus-v2-7-android/dp/SB04932
although the root isnt done properly you can use the tool above to make sure it is and it will also install busybox and superuser for you which are the 2 tools needed to do anything with a rooted tablet

now if i could just get the sound working on a scroll basic plus v1 i will be sorted lol
