Bought my Scroll today :¬)

Postby Diego » December 30th, 2010, 10:36 am

£149.96, delivered, for the Scroll with the wallet and keyboard. 2p less than the wife paid for the Disgo 6000 I returned :D

Something wonderful happened with the order as well. The site had quoted £9.98 in shipping to my address (NI), but when I went to place the order it showed free shipping for the order. Then I went through the checkout and selected my address (again) and when I did it charged shipping again, £9.98. I went 'oh well' and went ahead and paid through PayPal and didn't give it another thought and shortly after received the receipt (txt and email, I'll have you know :P).

This was all in the middle of the night, so this morning I checked the progress and noted it was being picked and processed, all good. But I started wondering about that free shipping. Where did it come from, and go to? So I looked up the Scroll again and there it was, free shipping on the Scroll (and several other things), but not on the wallet & keyboard, which Dabs got me to buy with a 1/2 price offer if I got it with the Scroll. So, I thought, that is the problem: they give you free shipping, then take it away as part of a 'sale' - £20 off the price of the wallet becomes £10 off the wallet because it doesn't get free shipping. Bit of a rip-off!

So I called Dabs about it, as I am apt to do ;) and talked to an extremely happy and helpful fem customer service rep who blamed it on PayPal billing and refunded me :)

Hi,

Nice one. I was thinking of getting the case with the keypad. When you get it please let us know how well the scroll fits in the case.

Cheers
Charlie

Yes I was offered the came case/keyboard combo as a bundle from dabs at only 10 quid. It's pretty good for that price

Hi,

does the scroll slide out of the end of the case when being carried? as in the photo i can only see 3 clips, 2 at the bottom and one at the top, but nothing at the ends.

No, the clamps that hold the scroll in hold it pretty tight, not so tight you can't slide it out though :)
