What SDHC card size?

Postby Charlie » December 30th, 2010, 9:31 pm

Hi,

Just a quick question, what size sd card are people using with the scroll?

I am going to order one but not sure if a 8gb or 16gb would be best (32gb just too expensive at the mo)

Cheers
Charlie

any size will do, I'm using a 4GB. Just as long as it doesn't exceed 32gb

I've got an 8gb card. Apps take no space on 2.1. I wanted to be able to put some films, photo and music on it. Also the price is good!!!
Firmware 0.94 kernel 2.6.29 build 2.1, rooted, clockwork mod, build.prop v3, phone files renamed, manual youtube fix. Full market access!!!. Thanks for your hard work chaps.

As Dave said apps don't use any space on SD cards they use the internal memory.

I ready somewhere that you cannot run apps from an SD card.

thanks everyone,

just found that out too. you can only install apps on internal mem not sd. so a 4 or 8gb would be ok for music and some videos

If merlot publishes his findings, we should be on Froyo soon - you can store apps on the card with this version of the OS

Apps are generally quite small - I spent some time recently moving all my apps to the SD card on my HTC desire, and they were all between 1 and 5 meg, so I don't think a 16Gb is necessary. However, at that price, you may as well go for it - i'm waiting for a 16Gb Sandisk from Amazon - check it out here : http://amzn.to/hN39XC, approx £19 delivered.

16GB cards have the best price/volume ratio. 16GB cards are around 16 GBP on Amazon. 32GB cards however are around 50-60GBP. You could get 3 16GB cards for the price of 1 32.
