right, so i've had my scroll (firmware v1.02) for just under a week now and all in all it's a great little device, so easy to use and unbelievably responsive for its price. just got a question about the market place. after navigating to get.adobe.com/uk/reader from my scroll, it launched the official android market (not applanet which i use) which i could then use to download loads of other apps. however i can't find a link to the market app anywhere on my scroll! anyone got any ideas where i might find it?

Hi John, Check out storage options web site, maybe worth dropping them a line. They also have some links on there for android sites I've downloaded a couple that have been ok, hope this helps.

You wont find it as its hidden.

As Frimo suggests, contact SO and see if you get a response. There are quite a few market alternatives.

Sent them an email this morning, got a pretty swift reply about an hour later:

John, we do not support the Android Marketplace but you can get many apps from these sites.

I know it's not a big deal as I use applanet but I'm just curious as to whether or not I would be able to find it somewhere on my scroll..? anyone got any other ideas?

I believe I read on here that you can use a program called 'any cut' to create a shortcut to it. I also found that installing launcher pro automatically placed a market shortcut on the home screen.

market app shortcut (for what its worth !!): go to the home screen; press the menu button, then "search" for "Market", and you may see it, and you can then execute the app. To get the short-cut permanently on the home screen, search other posts for ideas.

ahh nice one, got it cheers. shame i'm now seeing the error that shows an app as downloading at the top then the arrow quickly disappears... i know i've seen a post about that somewhere here but i cant seem to find it again.....

Yes John, that is what Market does - starts the download, discovers you have a Scroll, and then stops the download.

i can download - or so it says - from play - new market - and recognises processor for compatability, and lets me download and says app installed but cannot find it anywhere on scroll
