Nearly-new hi

Postby katestew » February 20th, 2011, 8:26 pm

Had my Scroll a week now, and have found this forum enormously helpful already.
Some early thoughts a week in....
-- what a stonking bargain!
-- still a bit befuddled by the folder systems, and working out what's going where in terms of SD card or device
-- had a wibbly first day with a terribly inaccurate touch screen, but that sorted itself out when i updated the firmware
-- bought the keyboard case at the same time as the Scroll, but took it back, cos I needed a case first and foremost, and as cute as the keyboard was it wasn't cutting it as a case. Rather happily, buying both together meant I got to use my Maplin £10 off voucher, which means I ended up with my Scroll for 119.99 after I took the case back. Not that I'm endorsing this as a strategy... Go a lsleeve on its way from ebay for under a fiver, which is more in line with what i actually need
-- scratchy screen already, boo :(
-- invisible Market is a bit odddd, but I downloaded App Centre and that magically kicks Market into life when an app isn't on there.
Biggest challenge is going to be keeping kids' and OH's sticky mits off it.

Hi Katestew.....

Easiest way to keep kids and better (or is it worse) half's mitts off it is to lock it away when youre not using it! :D

The lack of market can be a pain, but in time you will find that the market wont work at all. When it fails youll need to do the "market fix" which is well documented here. Use the search function (top right of this page), type in "market fix" and all will be revealed. If you need further help please dont hesitate to ask, we dont bite (much!)

Welcome to the forum, enjoy!
Dave

Employees are like mules. Some you stand in front of and coax them along with a carrot. Some you stand behind and kick them in the arse. The key to management is knowing which mules are which!
