Rooting a new Capacitive Scroll

Postby aidy12 » July 18th, 2011, 2:05 pm

I bought my son a new Scroll loaded Launcher Pro and have the market working but it is slow to start up and a bit laggy.
My question is before I Root and delete the phone stuff is 'Does the rooting guide on here work for the new Scrolls as all the chat seems to be about the older ones?'
Ive never done anything like this before so want to make sure I dont wreck it :-)

Welcome,
You will need PC drivers, and Super One Click-Shortfuse

Hi Aidy,

Shortfuse.org has a database error at time of writing so I would suggest trying again later. Rooting in itself is not dangerous, however renaming the phone stuff can be if you delete the wrong file.

My advice would be to rename the extension of the file and not delete it.

Example: change phone.apk to phone.old

It will have the same effect but all you have to do to get it back is rename the file extension. If you delete the whole file chances are you'll have to wait for someone to upload it for your use again.

Employees are like mules. Some you stand in front of and coax them along with a carrot. Some you stand behind and kick them in the arse. The key to management is knowing which mules are which!
