Hi

Had my Scroll now for two days and have already messed it up  I have managed to get the microSD card stuck in so far into the body of the unit that I am unable to free it

I have bought this 2nd hand but I know from the person who owned before me, has not had it a year yet and probably still has the receipt from where he got it from.

However this does not help me with removing this stuck card which has gone into the metal lip and the scroll is not seeing it either :(

I have mainly bought this unit however for development reasons.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum.

I did that some time ago, but managed to extract it with tweezers.

If you cant you will have to disassemble it to get it out im afraid.

Yep being trying tweezers sadly I have made a little bit of a mess of the surrounding case trying to free it.

How do I go about taking it apart? I do not want to make a mess of that as well !

forget it, I think all of the time I have spent trying to remove it has ended up breaking the MicroSD card into bits. I guess though as this car got stuck at the top part of the slot it still means that the actual slot for the MicroSD card should still work ?

Disassembly thread is here.

My only concern is if youve left parts inside your scroll and they are metal, they may short out something on the board and ruin your scroll if you dont remove the offending bits.

My only problem is taking it apart and breaking it that way. However I under stand your concern so I may have to take the risk of undoing it all. As far as I can tell the parts left are not moving.

The only reason for the card to get into this part of the slot is that no matter what I tried, the card would not stay held in by itself even after pushing it past the case outer shell. I would say a bad design to let this happen at all.

Thanks for the post to the disassembly FoneFixer

Thing is it a largish part of the card and it has got jammed between the metal lip and the plastic above that. It has also gone a fair way back , I did have it almost out but then it got pushed back in , while trying to get purchase on it.
