Hiya!
Ok, I own up, I've posted elsewhere already on the forum but I thought it's never too late to say hi right?
Anyway.
My background - I've been on smartphones for ages and hacking around with them for as long as that. I've been on Androids for about 4 years now and when my wife said she wanted an iPad I thought 'oh no you're not'!
So, I went for the Extreme as it really looks like an iPad (don't laugh, it's important for WAF) and it was advertised by Ebuyer who I trust and have used for ages.
I've been sneakily preparing it for her over the past week or so, and so here are my initial thoughts:
Pros - slick and bright screen, ICS is really nice, real quality feel to the build and the accessories are good, microSD slot and hdmi etc ports are a real bonus.
Cons - having to hack around to get Market working (I refuse to call it play!), odd dropouts of wifi, doesn't charge off micro USB (come on guys, this is 2012!), and yet more hacking around to install certain apps (Rightmove just refuses to install).
Summary - It's great and I'm sure I'll get it working a treat eventually. Only regret is that I've seen mentions/pre-orders for the dual core models from China, whilst I was googling for Market fixes. Still, this one is for the wife , I'm sure I can choose one for me later...
