howdy, and how i got my scroll

Postby neopeggs » September 13th, 2012, 6:10 am

Hello

Wanted to tell you about the good customer service I had from scroll.
I borrowed a 7 inch scroll tablet (the original one that was a bit rubbish compared to today's offerings) from my mother-in-law to see if I would find a tablet useful in my day to day life. She had reverted to using a note book as this tablet was just too slow for anything beyond a bugged angry birds. Unfortunately whilst in my possession the scroll stopped booting. I thought it was already out of warranty so put off telling her for a while. When I did eventually fess up it transpired that it had gone out of warranty only a few days previously. Feeling terrible about the whole thing I contacted scroll to see if there was anything I could do myself to get it working again. To my surprise, as a gesture of good will they said they would accept it back for repair! There was a bit of confusion between departments, some telling me they wouldn't and some saying they would but eventually they accepted the old tablet. A week later I received a scroll excel 2.3.4 in the post! I think it was refurb as there was a scratch on the back, plus the power supply didn't work but I could hardly complain, aside from a non syncing calendar the tablet is great. By this time my mother-in-law, who was great about the whole thing by the way, had coincidentally bought herself a new excel 4 and is also very pleased with it, so she let us keep the excel 2.3.4. I ended up getting a nexus 7 so the wife now uses the scroll. So we all lived happily ever after, thanks to excellent customer service from scroll.

Incidentally did you know that I couldn't join this forum from my scroll, had to go to PC because the scroll couldn't display the security verification check? Was a tad frustrating.
