App Combatibility

Postby cardinalfire » May 25th, 2011, 3:08 pm

I recieved a Scroll as a present and i've been messing around with getting apps on here. I finally discovered that I needed to get the 'Market Android' app from App Center in order to have my google account recognised by the Android Market site (previously I was wondering what 'Android Eclair' Driver was and how I could get it, though obviously that isn't needed).

Has my efforts to get my device recognised by Android Market been in vain? As I have tried to download several apps, BBC Iplayer, Adobe, and Kindle and each have said that my device is not compatible. Haha great, so the only apps I can use are via App Center? Which so far have not been as desirable as the apps on Android Market. I've discovered Google Maps and that's about it.

Anyone know how I could at least get the BBC Iplayer app on my Scroll?

Iplayer won't be supported if you're on Android 2.1.. The other apps should be ok.
I have downloaded them without having the market App... the liks just take me to the market and they download and install from there.
I'm on 2.1 firmware version 1.02.
Scroll 7" (purchased 24/5/11)
Android 2.1 Firmware 1.02. Now Rooted and Phone APKs renamed. Mali file replaced.
Market still works..
