Scroll 7" - Which Firmware upgrade and where to get the file

Hi guys.

I've got the 7" Scroll tablet, and have only just got round to looking into this.
It is still in a "Out the box" condition with the original firmware and Android installed.
I have noticed it is slow, not too responsive and the market doesn't seem to offer half the apps I want.
I have an Android phone with some of the apps I want installed from the market.
I'm confident in rooting, upgrading and the like, but I can seem to find the firmware update anywhere.
Any help in finding the firmware, and/or recommending me which one to go for would be much appreciated.
Also worth noting, I am a MacBook user.
Is it still possible to upgrade/root/improve my tablet? Is the software available for Mac's too?
In short I want it running fast, with the best firmware and Android currently available. I am sure it's current state is not the best it can offer.
