I'm being thrown out of Browser

Postby Edmundblackadder » May 21st, 2012, 8:23 am

I'm on my second Excell now, the first one having to be swapped. It is generally fine but when I am on the web browser it is randomly throwing me out of the page, closing the browser down, and returning me to the main front page. It is doing this on a range of pages, not just one site. Any thoughts? I am hoping not to have to send it back but I will not live with this as it is too annoying.

Hi,

Sorry this won't help, I'm on my 1st Excel still but got the same thing 6-9 times within 2 weeks of having the tablet. However it does not do that any more (why and how I don't know) - I have only been using the GB stock browser. Maybe with all the messing about on the tab I have done I could have fixed it without knowing.

Charlie, Magic fingers without realising it. The only problem with solving a problem without knowing how is that if it comes back you don't know what to do to solve it again. Hopefully it is something simple.

Yes very true , touch wood so far the problem has not resurfaced. Are you using the stock Launcher or a 3rd party one. I wonder if this issue stopped when I changed to ADWLauncher EX, you can try the ADWLauncher version for free the Ex is a paid app.

I just click on the browser app that it came with. I use Google as the search engine.

Yes I am using the stock web browser and Google as the search engine - What I meant was to change the home launcher (the app that controls the desktop - so to speak) I.e.

Mini breakdown comparison of Android / Windows

Android:-
* OS
* Home Launcher (different Launchers can be installed & used and can be switched between - There is an app to make that easier too)
* Apps
* User Data

Windows:-
* OS & Home Launcher (i.e. desktop screen) as one program
* Apps
* User Data

Sorry if you already know this, it will be useful for others that don't.

Couldn't solve the problem so the unit has gone back. The next one will be my third in 4 months. If this one is not perfect then I will ask for my money back as that is too many faulty units for me. Here's hoping......
