Bricked 7" Scroll & no recovery HELP !!

I got a RMA number / lable so sending it back tomorrow wil let you know what they say

Let us know how you got on. Did you get an RMA from Maplins or SO? If it was maplins take the scroll and rma number into the store and they may very well swap it on the spot

No it was from StorageOptions themselves so will send it back & see how we go will let you know & this time i wont make the same mistake with clockwork mod as last time thanks for trying to help it is appreciated & as i say i will let you know

Yep, I did the same thing. Except I wanted to do the exact opposite - I'd installed ClockworkMod and CM7 but wanted to restore to stock firmware. I did so and FAIL - the thing got stuck on WELCOME, so I formatted \RECOVERY and \DATA and \CACHE via FASTBOOT, flashed stock recovery and got an RMA from SO. I'm going to ship my tab in tomorrow, hope it works!

Update

Got my new Scroll 7" back today Good guys at Storage options didn't even want proof of purchase Great in my book so
Now got my scroll 7" back with no App downloader on it lol how can they push a Andriod Tab without any kind of App market ... & why can't they ship it with standard one ?? what happened there i wonder

So now have a 2.2 Mid 7" WM8650 (poo)
2.1 Scroll 7"
& a
2.2 Flytouch 3 Superpad 3 (8gb Nand)10.2" on the way

So in short they sent a new Tablet to me Free of charge No questions asked

So good luck epic118 hope yours works out as well as my RMA did

Glad you got it sorted out.

Here's an educated guess as to what happened about market access. Back in December 2010 when the scroll was launched in the UK by SO, people were buying them very quickly. There was little or no support and SO were being VERY cagey about where they came from (I think they are CherryPad's).

Shortly after sales started, people noticed that the market app was knackered and SO were forced to put a message on their website stating that the market app was unlicensed by Google. In other words, they were Chinese imported tablets and i THINK SO were deliberately misled by the manufacturers.

This forum is just about the only support area there is for Scrolls, SO will replace stuff but they cannot normally handle in-depth technical queries.

Maplin also seem to replace them easily, ive had to replacements ( the latter was swapped for a ViewPad 7 as they had no Scrolls in stock)

Out of interest do you know of any good sites to get apps or anything like the market where i wont have to keep putting things on the SD then using a file manager to install them..

I have now rooted it & would like to try & get a rom that does work 100% with it any ideas & with clockwork Mod which model do you choose when you try to install or back up your rom as Scroll is not listed nor are many other Tabs for that matter.

Now the reason im here 8) ...i got given this tablet & i think ive bricked it. Everywhere i look loads of people want help yet can seem to get any, to try & fix it. Then i found here & you are my only hope i haved posted this exact message in a few tablt modding / help forums to no avail

When i start it the damn thing gets stuck on the Scroll screen (maker screen) i cant use the recovery tool as it wont go into it.

Android SDK ADB cant see it but it does put a fastboot driver on when plugged into my PC yet all i get is Fastboot ? when i use the fastboot devices cmd

So as im a noob i was wondering if any one can help with this as im running out of ideas now ! link to device on StorageOptions the link shows the device & specs

Specs:

1. Arm11
2. Telechip 800mhz (8900 i think)
3. 2gb Nand
4. Firmware = 0.94
5. Kernal =2.6.29
6. Android 2.1

I note you are using a Bulgarian IP and that both these links in your post have problems?
The latter being linked to US federation antpiracy laws so I have removed them both.
