Scroll Excel 2 lcd screen

Postby normski » April 13th, 2013, 4:42 pm

Hi everyone. Need some help. My nephew has broken the lcd screen on his 7" Scroll Excel 2 :( . l have been searching for a replacement screen, but not having much luck. I did read in some posts last year that there was no where to buy a lcd screen. I have seen a 7" Scroll Excel 2.3 on the web, and was wondering if this screen will fit in my Excel 2 as they look identical, but l know looks isn't anything to go by. Hope somebody can help me with this issue, would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Hi Normski - Oh dear what a bummer.
Have a look at some videos on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgxLhniuSVU in this one the guy makes it look easy but it is not. The tablet in this video is a cheap import which is easy to flex and tease apart, you will find the Excel 2 much more robust.

As far as obtaining the right replacement screen/digitiser goes I think you are making a very big ask in trying to track down the right/fully compatible one. You may well find sites like e-bay will have them but you won't know for sure what you are buying and then the replacement task is somewhat surgical. It can be done but it requires extreme patience and care and if your fingers have trouble texting on a phone then this task will not be for you.

I am afraid all we can do on this forum as far as I am aware is to wish you luck and tell us how you get on. :(
If it isn't broken then don't try to fix it!

Thanks for that info. Is it possible that a 7* Scroll Excel & 7" Scroll Excel 2 share the same screen. Like l said earlier, there is a 7" Scroll Excell 2.3 available to buy as spares or repair, and l just need to know if this would fit mine. Thanks again.

I'm afraid I can't answer that question for you it would be a question of do you risk it or not.
