No CWM what other options do I have ?

Postby b19dmj » March 27th, 2011, 6:24 pm

Hi all,
I have tried CWM on my Scroll but had no success with it being 1.02s firmware. I would like to do some simple modding like rename/remove the Phone, Message and Telephony files. I have rooted already but am hesitant to do much more without the option to recover if I do something wrong/stupid!
Can anyone reccommend an alternative to CWM for me?
Cheers
Dave

Hmm... Have to wait and see what turns up !
Is it reasonably safe to rename/delete the Phone, message & Telephony files without having CWM to fall back on? :?
cheers

It doesn't generally break anything so I can't see a problem with renaming. Deleting with no backup would be another matter.

insx: I agree.....

The 1.02S firmware has issues with its recovery partition not working properly, and CWM is not working on it at present.
Simply renaming the relevant files should be ok, but I certainly wouldnt delete them - could have nasty consequences.

Tip of the day - The problem with CWM not working is to do with the size of the recovery partition on the 8" Scrolls - more than the firmware. So if you have an 8" scroll - do NOT try to do the CWM mod as it will not work and it WILL mess up your scroll!
