Where the heck is the desktop, what folder is it and where are the folders you save on it?

I have file manager but can't find it. Is it hidden?

There is no desktop folder. Android is not Windows.

If that's the case where is a folder you've added to the desktop. I want to know how to path an app to a desktop folder.

How is it possible to add a folder to the 'desktop' (homescreen)? I don't have my scroll in front of me but IIRC you can only add shortcuts and widgets.

I really should wait until I have my scroll in front of me but I'm thinking that is a folder for shortcuts rather than a directory in the file system.

Yep, I'm pretty sure those 'folders' are just menu configurations. They do not create directories where you can save stuff.
