Help! Destination drive is full (32gb Micro SDHC)!

Postby spencario » April 24th, 2011, 8:36 am

Hi everyone, can you help my please?
I have just bought a 32gb micro SDHC card for my 8" scroll (which shows as having about 31gb free space when I connect it to my PC), but eveytime I try to copy a .mkv file over (typically 8gb to 12gb), it says thew destination drive is full! I have copied smaller files no problem but it won't let me copy any larger files.
Has anyone else had this problem?
I'd really appreciate any help...

You diddnt buy this card from Fleabay did you? I think you might find its a dodgy one which has been reprogrammed. Try formatting it and see what happens. There is a program available free on the net that will show you its true size (cant remember its name right now - sorry)

Hi the Scroll does use Fat32 format But you can not put a file bigger than 4GB on Fat32 that is why Windows does not still use it!

Hi, so does that mean I can't watch any films on my Scroll that are over 4gb in size? Which would pretty much rule out every .MKV file!

I'm a bit behind the times. A divx film is generally no bigger than a gig. Why are MKVs so big?

Test the card with h2testw as a lot of the cards on fleabay are fakes and will not store more than 4gb but show as full size in windows. This test will take a while to run but will confirm size and speed.
