How to scroll with my Scroll?

Er, excuse the naive question, but how do I scroll up and down a list or a webpage? The scroll bar on the right hand side on the screen is too thin to click (about 5 pixels wide). I have no option in Settings to calibrate the device.
[ Firmware v1.01. Linux kernel 2.6.29. Build Android 2.1. Model S1008. ]

Have you tried pushing a bit firmer on the page and swiping up?

Unlike more expensive devices, this screen needs a bit more pressure or else use the supplied stylus. Unscrew the end and extend.

If it's something else, apologies :)

Thanks Mark. That works. Also I found that the scroll bar does work but I have to use the edge of my nail (can't seems to unscrew the stylus unless I need to use pliers). Would be nice if the scroll bar was a little thicker! Cheers - Patrick

I don't see what the issue is... if you want to scroll down or even left and right just make sure you place your finger on a blank part of the page and slide up an down. The scroll bar is just a visual indicator that you can scroll the page. You can also zoom with a quick double tap.

That's right. I haven't used touch screen before (I am used to desktop computers and my mobile phone is basic). Now I have another problem if any of you would be kind enough to point me in the right direction. I have had my Scroll for a couple of days. After setting it up I successfully downloaded the Google Sky Map app. Now I am unable to download any more marketplace apps to my Scroll (I have only tried the free ones). I have tried a couple of different Wifi networks. Originally the message from the App Installer was 'download unsuccessful'. I uninstalled all updates to the App Installer and now it says it is downloading and gives '0% complete'. I have tried clearing the cache to no avail. Any ideas? Is it possible to factory reset the device if necessary?

Also I don't have an SD card. Is that necessary?

It is a known problem with Firmware v1.01

Only solution found so far is to factory reset the scroll and download as many apps as you can before that happens, or, download the from google searches and copy them to your scroll from the PC and install them from the .apk files.

There is a new firmware with this being fixed, being released from storage options soon, so bear with it until that comes around

The market problem is a known issue, there is a temporary solution i believe elsewhere within this forum until a new firmware is released although I do not have this issue with firmware 1.00

With regard to an SD card, its not necessary really unless you intend to use the scroll to play music videos etc and store documents eg word, excel pdf etc as currently the operating system does not support storing applications on the SD card anyway :)
