Driver problem

This unit is 3 days old and it is a great piece of kit. I have contacted storage options who seem to think that I have a defective unit. The unit works fine I suspect that there is more likely a bug in the software or something that they aren't telling me. The problem is listed below.

If I take unit out of usb debugging it lists 4 storage volumes in device manager. If usb debugging is on which it is how it came configured it asks for a TCC8900 driver. My model is SCR052577 running android 2.3 baseband version 1.02. Build number Scroll Gen 5 2.3.1. Build number 97C2-D1-S1-1S0-100. I hope this helps.

That sounds like "normal" behaviour for a Scroll.

I have the older resistive touchscreen model running Android 2.1 and it shows the same 4 drives. When I allow the Scroll's SDcard to be mounted on the PC, only one of the four drives is activated. I think your Scroll has two SDcards so maybe two of the four drives are activated? (I'm guessing here)

If you enable debugging mode, the Scroll configures its USB host port as an ADB (Android DeBugging) interface and requires a PC driver to be loaded so that the debugging software on the PC can connect to the Scroll. bt0558 has just configured his debugger interface driver on the same type of Scroll with some help from bdb - see this thread

If you don't intend doing any Android debugging or "rooting", you can ignore the issue.
