Sold 7" Tablet, Gmail account removal

Postby DualFever » October 4th, 2011, 12:03 pm

Hey all

I sold my 7" android tablet on ebay, but it still has my gmail account on.

I'm finding it hard to remove this. A factory reset isn't working, and I can't clear the GoogleApps data from the Manage applications menu.

Is there anyway i can manually remove the GoogleApps.apk data?

Or remove the account some other way.

Found the File!

Had to open Root explorer(download the app if you dont have), then browse to Data/System, rename accounts.db to accounts.db.bak, restart the system. (need to be rooted)

Then accounts are removed! Even the default one that android doesn't let you remove

You must not have been resetting it properly, a full factory reset would take it back to "Factory" settings.

Normally done by powering on the device and pressing a combo of buttons to enter the recovery menu before it boots

I don't remember exactly what they are on the scroll

The factory reset only works with the Scroll, if you have the power adapter plugged into the Scroll and switched on.
