Jsst trying to set up new scroll, and while after a number of attempts i got it to access my wireless, i can do nothing else
browser - any address nothing
email - both on POP3 and IMAP despite all settings being correct unable to contact server
face book an error occurred during during sign in please try again

tunein radio -- an error occurred

alright i was not expecting miracles at the price, but i at east expected it to do basics out of the box
do i just send this back as not as advertised?

Hi, Before sending it back, as they will return it if there is nothing wrong, I would make some further checks. It seems all the problems could stem from your internet connection. Just because the Scroll is saying connected it may not be fully. Can you connect a phone or another PC to the same router? I would drop the connection and try to connect again. Get the browser working first before you start setting up anything else needing wireless. Good luck.

Thanks for the encouragement - but nothing wrong with wifi connection (it took the scroll numerous attemtps to find SSID - everything else which connects does it in seconds). And when you say they will return it - it is advertised as doing a number of things and so far it is not doing them. i will persevere - as i do want to like it - but so far -

and what other indicator than wifi connected strentgh excellent can i use?

have you tried changing the channel on router http//192.168.0.1 on your pc
i remem ber the scroll not liking anything higher than channel 10
if your neighbours are using the same channel as you you can get a signal drop which causes these problems
there is a thread on here all about the wifi issues try a search

wifi is not the problem - i am sitting next to virgin super hub.

also - did you see the gadget show - it worked out of the box

going to phone suppport - but that is another hour wasted trying to set this up on email, facebook, radio or even basic browsing!!!

my partner is not tech savyy - all she wants is ebooks, facebook, email, and browsing - thought this wo0uld do this - bit obviously not

problem sorted - once i emailed Storage Options they responded with a link to a new firmware download - followed instructions and everyhting appears to be sorted - so inone respect prompt customer service, but then again if it it was that easy to fix, why did it not arrive with the update?
anyway happy at moment, but i am sure i will be on here to discover more of the arcane secrets of the Scroll

Any chance you could email the firmware over to me? I've sent a request to Scroll Support already but I am eager to get stuff working as I'm having the same problems here - tried different channels on the router but keep getting drops that don't recover until a reboot!
