SD Card access

Hi,

I have a Scroll 7" Tablet PC Android 2.3 and would like to view photos stored that are stored on a micro sd card.

I have inserted the card into the TF Card slot, the tablet indicates displays the following

Preparing SD card
Followed by Media Scanning

However there appears to be no way of accessing the files on the card!

I have tried using ES File Explorer and Astro and they both show an sdcard folder but this appears to be an internal one.

What is confusing me is that if I connect to a PC I see two devices I:\ and J:\ where I is the SCROLL and J is the micro sd card. I can copy to both but only I appears on the Tablet!

Surely the point of the Micro SD slot is to be able to see whats on it.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

Interestingly I have the older Scroll Tablet running 2.1 and it works fine on that one.

Thanks,

Ian James

Ok so I have been digging a bit further and I have discovered that Gallery and Music can access the SD card (eventually it is slow to scan)

What I really want to do is 'root' the device by running z4root from the sd card. I tried running it from the device and although it runs and appears to work it super user doesn't work. I am assuming this is because it must run from the sd card.

I will post this query in the hardware section.

Thanks

I have just come across a similar problem (new Excel user) I have put a 16Gb micro SD card in and can't seem to find it or access it. When I connect to my PC I don't see it at all. It didn't give any indication when I plugged it in, but when exploring it rather looks as it might have been recognised. How am I supposed to use it? I would like to transfer files directly to it from my PC by USB cable.

@ ianjames i dont think z4root works with 2.3 gingerbread you have to use gingerbreak or superoneclick you should google first to read up on it as you can brick your tablet

@ Rodders you have to mount the tablet onto pc
after you plug it in pull down the top of the screen to acces a menu
select USB conected then turn on usb storage the scroll will now show up as a drive on pc you can drag and drop etc
