Hi All ,

Did all the root stuff and the backups and recoveries . Installed the scroll7-cyanogen-signed.zip for Scroll 7" resistive 4k which looks great and goes on a treat .took 5 mins when I eventualy figured out what I was supposed to do .The only problem is that when I go into the settings to turn on wireless and join up to my wireless .I click on turn on and it comes on for a few seconds and the changes to turning wlan off before I et a chance to do anything else . I ahve a 7" resistance which is now reporting as :
model number :Scroll7
Android Version :2.37
Kernel Version 2.6.29
Mod Version CyanogenMod-7.1.0-TCC8902-Kang
Build Number: GWK74
Prior to the upgrasde it was Eclair .
Should I have used another version of Cyanogen or am I stick with no wireless ???
Any ideas appreciated .
Brendan.

Welcome to the forum....

A couple of things to check:

Have you got the password correct? (triple-check it)
Does the wifi actually connect then disconnect? or does it just try to and fail?
If you look in the wifi settings, click the menu button then "advanced" and change "wifi sleep policy" to "none"

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly :-)
I have my wireless setup to Open so no pass keys needed .I tried the wifi sleep policy" to "none" . It was as if it was trying to load the wireless module . It was staying on for 20 seconds then just turning off .
Had a day off today so had some time to try some stuff and have a mess around with it .Tried any and all the settings without any luck .Restored back to my original stock 0.94 ROM just to prove I could then started flashing ... :ugeek:
Thought I'd try the 8k recovery for some reason , this time it booted OK but still no wi-fi and when I tried to get into recovery it just sat there on the boot screen .Had to re-flash the scroll-clockwork-recovery.img through Terminal Emulator .This got me back my recovery console .
next I tried the Cherry Rom.No touch screen and still no WiFi .
Next to try was the Scroll7-8K ..wouldn't boot past the Scroll Logo.
Wiped Cache and did a factory reset between each flash .
Finally was just about to report back to you that I was stumped and decided to reset everything again and try the proper scroll7-cyanogen-signed.zip .Turned on wireless and lo and behold it works ,pick up my three APs ,internet etc .As far as I can see the only thing that doesn't work is the camera. No idea why the WiFi is working but that's part of the fun .This thing seems hard to brick ,just as well :-)
Now I just have to find a use for it ....
