Scroll Tablet PC | Scroll Excel Tablet Forum

Hello everyone, new to the board, but not to computers, etc. I bought my tablet about a year ago and this is the one I bought: http://bit.ly/xFQPgH I've been trying to determine which tablet this is ever since. I believe it is the same as the original Scroll tablet, but mine has a gray plastic back instead of aluminum. It does run Android 2.1 and the other specs seem to be the same.

I would naturally like to upgrade mine to the latest firmware as well as upgrading the OS to a later version if at all possible. Any suggestions here would be greatly appreciated.

hi and welcome not shure what version you have but looks like a telechips device there are so many variable for this device that i cant tell you that a certain firmware would work!

I've done a lot of searching for the exact model the one I have is, but original Scroll 7" tablet is the closest one I've found so far. It looks exactly the same and in checking the manual for the Scroll and comparing to mine, it is very close also.

Under About Device on mine it lists the following:

Model: 97#
Firmware: v1.02
Kernel: 2.6.29
Android 2.1

Mine works okay, but I am unable to install any apps as I always get an unsuccessful message each time I try.

Does look like you have a 1st gen Scroll clone - with the latest firmware. The issues you are having with the market will NOT be fixed by firmware. However there is a fix for market issues for that model on this forum - Have a look for a topic called, something like this "Detection found the market fix".
