I can not remember if I could download apps from the website version of Google Market to my 1st gen Scroll.

Anyway just been setting it up for the misses, (ie changing the gmail a/c from mine to hers) - The market app downloads apps fine & the website market shows the Scroll as a device on that gmail a/c - but when ever I try to install app from the website market I get this message "This app will be downloaded to your device shortly" then nothing happens, it should send it to the Scroll, but does not.

Any ideas? - I have googled this and all things to fix this issue, are for 2.2 and above and this tab is still on 2.1.1

have you changed build,prop or anything since you last used it sync the google account and it may show again sometimes takes a while to show on market web up to 48 hrs or change the build,prop to show as wifes scroll so you know its not your old account i know when ive flashed roms to my pulse sometimes it keeps the old market id sometimes its a shows as a new device

I have tweaked the build.prop - On my gmail a/c it lists no device (which is good as there are none for that a/c), and is show the device on the wife's a/c as HTC Nexus One (as that is how I have it set)

It lists all the apps that are on the tab, and ones that I have tried to install from the website (it says "installed"), but they are not sent to the tab or installed.

yes i could before i will try again now as i have gone back to 2.1 from CM7 and have only done it with app i think

looks like i'm in the same boat the market must think its sent it to the CM7 cos it says installed

Edit: did you factory reset to delete the account then do the google account thing again to set up the scroll wth market

oh, I bet that you will see that app in the list of "my apps" in the market app (marked as "free" - instead of "installed") - it does on mine.

Maybe it never worked for 2.1 - Didn't the web market come out just after the 1st scroll? - I can not remember if I every used it - I have with the Apollo & Excel, which works fine with both.

No - I deleted the account.db from data/system/ then rebooted - so I could enter new gmail a/c (also cleared data and cache from market app) - Everything else is fine, calendar, contacts, gmail sync and I can dl from market app, just not the website one. - Oh well, thanks for trying Mitre.

it deffo worked on my CM7 i will flash back later when battery is charged up and post back
weired things been going on latley when i flashed back to 2.1 had no SU and could not update the binary so had to get an update.zip from the superuser website??

Aye, well my tab is still rooted - but can not use Titanium backup at the mo' as it says 'device not rooted'

well CM7 was 2.3 so maybe the web market does not send to devices with 2.1

In my gmail a/c under the dashboard - I can see this:-

Account: my_email_here@gmail.com

and in the wife's gmail a/c under the dashboard - I can see this:-

NOTE: - both are for the 1st gen Scroll - Yes I understand that google keeps old records, hence why the 'phone' one is there - but why is my email linked to the other device? - and why when she changes the nickname of the device "HRH" to anything it shows in my dashboard as well as hers.

Maybe I am going to have to delete my whole gmail a/c - bit of a PITA - but it will stop all this over lapping. Just image if you sell a device - your details and the new owners can be seen by each other, how bad is that!

UPDATE: - Just done the same thing (ie rename accounts.db - reboot) on the Excel, logged into new gmail a/c - all is fine, (so far) can dl from market app, web market & all device details removed from old gmail a/c and show up correctly in the new a/c.

Must be the an issue with the old Scroll - I will try doing it again from an old backup.
