Password for Evernote

Hi -I'm asking newbie questions again - I was looking for a decent note taker and then saw that Evernote is supplied and all you have to do is install it - easy. It installed fine and then asked me to set up an account -fair enough - typed in a user name and a password. it then tells me that my password is invalid - eh? How can it be invalid when it is a new password when setting up a new account. OK - what am I doing wrong??
