My screen has picked up a couple of horrible scratches, from dragging my fingernail across what must have been some dirt. Does anyone have any tricks for removing scratches??

I hear whitening toothpaste and lamb's wool buffing pad work to remove scratches

Hmm...sounds interesting. Any ideas as to where on earth to find a lambs wool pad? Are these the same things that people use for their car paintwork?

Yes. You can get small ones, for a drill/Dremel, as well as hand ones.

Small scratches in REAL GLASS could be removed via drop of Brasso or a light wipe with Duraglit. I do not know what the composition of the screen on the Scroll is.
I remove watch face scratches using the above....try it at yr own risk...............................

I tried that with a mobile phone, result was awful, instead of one liveable with scratch I had hundreds of tiny scratches all reflecting light and rendering the screen un-readable To make matters worse the original scratch was still there!
If you do try it do a small test in a corner first - not all over like I did......

I use a polish at work that removes minor scratches from screens. I dont think its available for public sale though. When im back at work on Friday ill grab the manufacturers name and part number if you like.
Its pretty good stuff, but obviously doesn't remove deep scratches.
HaH: As youve found out, some mobile screens are not glass but plastic-coated. The stuff I use does clean them up pretty good...

A tiny and I mean tiny amount of nail varnish remover (not the fake crap, such as none alcohol based tesco stuff the Mrs buys - it will smear). Used with a none lint cloth (not cotton wool or anything remotely abrasive).
Do NOT directly apply nail varnish to the screen, but to the rag/cloth first then gently rub in while rotating in and around the area where the scratches are.
I will not be responsible for people ruining their screens with doing the above. As it's easy to screw up with the wrong type of alcohol based fluid's and rags.
