boot hang after busybox install

Hi all,

In an attempt to get OpenVPN onto my Scroll Excel, I installed Busybox from Android Marketplace. Now, my Scroll won't get past the air balloon screen.

Is there any way at all to get back from this? I can't even get it to boot into recovery.

Only had the damn thing fired up for about 30 minutes from new

Thanks,

Bob

If you can, I think these commands should remove it atleast.
Code: Select all
adb remount
adb shell rm busybox /system/bin
adb shell rm busybox /data/local

Hi afmnbob
sorry to see your trouble but it is fixable
Excel has busybox preloaded
sounds like you have put on a corrupt busy box over the top
try the adb commands from Suggsy89 post if you dont knw what adb is then

can you download android commander to your pc http://androidcommander.com/
and also google for busybox v1.18.3 and v1.17.1 they are known to work

Reading some other posts on here, I think that part of the problem might be that busybox 1.18.3 was already installed (unbeknownst to me) in /system/bin, and my install removed that version and put the new 1.19.4 one in /system/xbin?

Very new here, so no experience of adb yet, not even installed. Downloaded android commander but it can't see any devices. Time to learn about adb, I guess...

It's possible you haven't installed the drivers.
There is a link for thia. Apologies I can't provide the link. I have put my back out and can't get near my pc.
Apologies if you have this already.
