eBuyer/Storage Options RMA Experiences [POLL]

Postby darkcyde » April 17th, 2012, 5:19 pm

Hi all - liek a hell of a lot of people it would seem, I have had to RMA my Extreme Tablet to eBuyer.

I was wondering what other peoples experiences of the process have been - I know eBuyer have been torn a new one in the past over their RMA procedures and turnaround times, so I would be interested to know if it had improved?

I returned mine on the 5th, got it back on the 16th, but you have to remember it was Easter weekend.

I had to return mine to Storage Options due to dust under the screen. I returned it on a Thursday and the new one arrived on the Monday. You can't get much better than that. No silly games, no trying to evade the issue, just straight old customer service at a good level.

Received my RMA'd replacement from eBuyer this morning, so that's exactly one week from receiving my original.....all good with it so far, no dust and the screen works 100%!

HOWEVER.....I did have to argue with eBuyer about their re-delivery....I had an email stating the device has been analysed and found to be faulty, so as soon as the Return is closed a ne wwould be dispatched. A couple of seconds later I had another email stating the return had been closed. Great, I thought! I looked on their website, being in mind this was the Wed 18th, and they had it down for dispatch on the Fri 20th for delivery on the monday following the weekend! I phoned them and they said they are honouring my original delivery schedule of 2 working days! I argued this of course (given that to move it up to next day is £1 difference) and asked them to send it to me next day as it's not my fault it was faulty and I'd like the unit back as soon as possible.....they agreed and I have it in my hands now.

I did decide last night tho that if this one proves to be faulty, I will be sending it back and asking for a refund....my confidence has been knocked severely after reading the amount of problems people are having with them!

Don't forget people often only go onto forums to mention problems. People rarely go on a forum to say their device is working well so that can distort your view of what is happening with these devices.

I would agree that if you have to send 2 back then maybe it is time to ask for a refund but I would not be too hasty in expecting this to happen. I have been very pleased with mine, dust apart, and hope the replacement gives no problems.

Mine arrived on Thursday as promised, and is so far working great, so fingers crossed.

Yes, I agree with you, not many people post saying theirs was fine so you can get a biased view which isn't good.
