hi i followed the instructions to add this new build.prop , I rooted first using z4root.1.3.0 , then followed the instructions to manually swap the build.prop for the updated one using the terminal emulator , now my file manager says that I have build.prop.old in my system folder , i can not get anything to work or install , I know ive screwed up somewhere along the line , im on firmware 1.1 if this helps , i have tried to install the update.zip using the standard recovery but it fails, can anyone help me to get this working with the new build.prop. ive tried everything , is there a way to flash the firmware using USB like you can on rockchip based tablets , any help is very very welcome

Canyou use the file explorer to rename build.prop.old back to build.prop? In addition, do you mean firmware 1.1 or 1.01?

Download the android SDK and use the ADB commands from the PC to "Push" the new build.prop into the scroll, then reboot
Connect the tablet to the PC via USB, DO NOT MOUNT ANY DRIVES
Install the driver from the ClockWorkMod thread from Device manager.
Put the new build.prop into the folder where the ADB exe is, Hold Shift, right click the inside of the folder, and choose "Open Command Prompt Window Here"
Type:
adb push build.prop /system/
Reboot the scroll

thanks to both of you for the replies , I am on firmware 1.01 , and I can not install any software that manages files , I am guessing its because I do not have build.prop in my system folder , but rather build.prop.old, i will try and run the SKD , any chance of a link to the exact files , the site i have found gives me android-sdk_r08-windows.zip is this what i need ?
plus I dont think I have root anymore , am I screwed without it ?

Hi, I had the same problem but thought it was me doing something wrong. It lets you rename the file but not move the new version into the folder. I did the following to rename the .old file back:
Open terminal emulator
Type in the following commands:
"su"
"mv /system/build.prop.old /system/build.prop"
This will put everything back as it was. Then I installed Super Manager and used that to move the file in the File Explorer (make sure you go to settings and enable super user access in super manager first).
Hope that helps.

@warpedflash, detection, gadgetman
Could you use warpedflash's update.zip file from the standard recovery menu (not sure if the standard recovery mode would accept a "none authorised" update.zip, I know its relatively high risk as there would be no backup if things went wrong, but from what has been described it sounds like if this could be done, it would be the easiest way to repair

@Jasoninertia
There is no offical updated released yet....
Am i correct in think that you can see your build.prop.old file in your /system directory?
