micro sd slot problems

Hi folks
First post, so please be gentle. I've got a lot of micro sd cards, and want to use the Scroll to play the mp3s on them. I tried inserting cards, but the cards don't "click" into the slot. The Scroll recognises them only if I hold the card in with my finger, and doesn't see them otherwise.
Have other people had this problem? Is the Scroll faulty?

ta muchly

Amber

hi and welcome ;)

are you sure the card is going in far enough? when i first got mine i literally had to force the cards in several times before it 'clicked',
if that fails and you have no luck, returning it for an exchange is the likely solution im afraid, you might be lucky and get a fresh one with the newer firmware :D

 really? i'm slightly jealous, mine doesn't have any projectile weaponry unless i throw the whole thing lol

sounds like a return job im afraid, it may be possible to repair but i wouldn't suggest it :(

let us know how you get on with the store and hopefully we'll see you back here soon!

i have to use my finger nail to push the card in, then when it has clicked and is released it's about level with the outside casing. means you don't accidentally remove the card (especially if you haven't unmounted it in settings)

the card slot is the same as on laptops you need a fingernail to push it in about 2mm before it engages with the locking clip with the contacts facing downwards my gf put hers in wrong side up in the lappy and it cost £30 to put right!!!

I used the end of the stylus, after unscrewing it, to push the SD card in. It's very tight.

I took mine back to Maplins, got a refund fine. But I'm wary of using the sd port on the new Scroll, think I'll just install a 32gb and leave it in, do updates by mounting on pc and use the microusb to connect a usb key for owt else..
