Video issues

Hi to all out there!

i bought a Scroll a few days ago & i think its an awesome bit of kit, the only thing is that after a few days the video has stopped showing picture but i still get sound, any help out there?

here's its stats.

Firmware version: v1.01
Baseband version: v1.01
Kernal version: 2.6.29
Android 2.1

I had the same problem when I was on 1.01 firmware. I upgraded to 1.02 and the problem went away, along with some other wifi issues. Beware there are some issues with 1.02 as well. Markets works intermittently, YouTube and gmail apps disappear, but for the they were not showstoppers. So do a bit of research before you upgrade.

Thanks for the reply, do you think it would have anything to do with other apps running on it?

no, not the apps that are removed in the FW 1.02 update

hi charlie, i meant to say is that i have put some games etc on the device at then when i went back to my device the next day it was then i realized i had sound but no picture, i since removed the last two apps but to no avail.

Are you trying a video that has worked on the scroll before, again? If it's a new video you are trying, it might be encoded in a format that the video player you are using can not decode.

Any more help out there on this? do you think it would make a difference if i reset it back to factory default?

Use the recovery mode and do a reset in there... will put it back to stock (assuming you haven't rooted/cwm'ed) so anything that's got pooted will be repaired.

just a quick question, did you go into settings/sound & displayand make a selection in "output select"?

just a thought to cover all bases.
