Where do downloads go?

This is probably a daft question but if I download an app and decide I don't want it, I can uninstall it but does the downloaded apk file stay in memory?

If so, how please do I find it and delete it to remove it completely, and free up memory

Hi Andrew, I downloaded an app called uninstall from the android market place it seems to have cleared the ones that I didn't want, so presume it clears everything.

On a different topic noticed that you have firmware v 1.00, mine is the same without the calibration on it. Tried to upgrade the firmware last night followed the instructions to the latter without any joy. All that kept coming up was SDHC card damaged at the end. Tried it for about the tenth time but instead of doing the upgrade just put photo's and music on it and it worked fine. Also have read some post where there issues with the upgrade. What's your thoughts on this are you just going to keep v 1.00 or try and install the upgrade ?

Regards,

Mark.

Hello Mark, thanks for your reply. I tried uninstall from Market and all it offered were the apps I wish to keep!

No, quite happy with v 1.00, don't want to foul it up. Saving up for one of the new Android Tablets on the horizon :D

Plug the scroll into the PC > Drag the toolbar at the top of the home screen down to show the USB drives

Click on Internal > Mount >

Explorer the drive from the PC, make whatever changes you need >

Click the same drive on the scroll again to disconnect

For more uninstall options goto

Settings > applications > manage applications

Click on hard button menu, choose filter > All

Now it will show you everything installed on the scroll, not just ones you downloaded

I've read on this forum that the phone.apk etc is installed.

I've checked the full list (as advised above), and it doesn't show... is it really not there, or somehow hidden?

I did notice that there is a sound recorder app - with no mic, this could record a lot of silence!

@ radders

A.1: The phone.apk's (PMT) are in the /system/app folder (you need your Scroll rooted to access these)

A.2: The Scroll does have a mic.
