Problems with App Installer

Everything was working OK until this morning when I went on to Android Market looking for a media player. I needed one that would pick up subtitles. Found VitalPlayer and decided to try it. Hit the download buttons and got the "your item will be downloaded" message followed by the little downloading arrow button at top left of the screen BUT it doesn't seem to have ended up anywhere on my Scroll.

When I go into App Installer there is no sign of it. Likewise if I go into "settings/applications/manageapplications". No sign of the one I've tried to download.

Repeated this with a couple of other free apps just to try it and the same result - shows "your item will be downloaded" but nothing appears on the SCroll.

Now, its quite possible that I have blundered into changing something without realising it but I'm not aware of having altered any settings or done anything which would have stopped the download and install functions from working.

Many thanks

G

Any ideas ?

Also is there anyway of getting rid of the unwanted entries in the list in "App Installer" which seem to have remained despite the app being uninstalled. ?

Yep that is one of the tell tale signs of a broken market - the link above will repair it

Many thanks for the fast response. Had a look at the link and to be honest I wouldn't dare try it. Didn't understand a word of it. Way too technical for me. I'd need a 50 page step by step idiots guide with masses of pictures. screet shots and words of one syllable :?

Are there any alternative app installers that I could use so I could down load apps using my laptop, then transfer to the SCroll via SDcard ?

you could give this a go in a browser on your scroll - https://market.android.com/
not 100% if it will work or not but its worth a shot
