Hi,does anyone know what mkv specs mvideoplayer (or scroll in general) will and will not play? I often get the error message "sorry cannot play video", even though mediainfo program lists specs as similar to files it plays fine. Can be annoyingly hit and miss which files are played. Though virtually all tv programmes play fine. Problem seems to be with movies.
Cheers

The problem will be with a specific codex used with a particular file. You can have two files of the same type and one not be supported as it's using a newer codex than the other. Check them on your PC.

A beauty little program called GSpot
http://www.headbands.com/gspot/ can tell you instantly what codec a particular files uses and whether you have it installed on your pc.
