Hi everyone,
Please forgive my lack of previous knowledge...but i've just found out that Android doesn't support proxy!
This seems somewhat fundamental as now I can't get on any corporate networks with my Scroll, as is the issue with anyone with an android device. I have been trying to find a work-around and have got as far as an app called Transproxy, but I've having troubles getting it to work, something to do with my iptables...
Does anyone have a different method of getting round this? Has anyone got Transproxy to work on a Scroll?
I'm still shocked that something this fundamental isn't part of the OS!
Thanks,
Linzi

Download "Any Cut" from the market and make a new activity shortcut > choose Proxy Settings
It will be placed on the Home Screen

Hi Detection,
I did that (great App, by the way!) and added my proxy settings but still no success. Is there anything else I can check, settings-wise?
Thanks,
Linzi

I couldn't see anything else unfortunately, and I guess those settings must have been hidden because they don't work then
I`ll keep my eyes open for an app - is there no settings you could enter in a browser proxy setting ?

That's a shame...I think transproxy is the way forward...but it need someone who knows their way around iptables to fix the issues. I think it's to do with it needing multimode?!?
I'll try and figure it out, if it can get sorted it'll solve one of the better publicised problems with the whole of Android, so definitely worth a try I think lol
Thanks for your help D!

I'm new to this forum but I've just managed to get the proxy working (using other peoples apps!)
I've got a scroll excel running gingerbread.
I downloaded and ran an app called iptables(beta). This installs something called iptables which seems to be crucial. I then installed Autoproxy Lite. These are both produced by the same developer and are available on the market.
I used the Lite version as I knew the proxy details for the set up at work.
It all seemed straight forward and worked fine. Added benefit of beating the IT technicians to solving the problem!
I've tried it with the normal browser, dolphin, opera and firefox and they all seem fine.
Hope this helps - might just be beginners luck.
