Android Market and Browser Annoyance

Postby paul2978 » February 25th, 2011, 8:30 am

Ok installing new apps is a bit of ........Pain to say the least....

My problem is this.

Open browser either Opera or the default one with the tablet.

Go to

market.android.com

see an app i want.

Click install

Some kindof box appears over the screen then on the webpage i think its the checkout box asking which version of android i click the box to select................the page just reloads!!!!!!!! :(

and im back to selecting install again......

Works on a browser in IE and Firefox on my ubuntu box.

Highly frustrating.......

Iv installed an apk via usb and worked fine but if anyone knows a reason for this would be great to know....as i feel im being taken around in circles on the webpage at least....

Thanks in advance..

O.K. here goes.

1) Register yourself on the android market from your tablet. This allows the market to detect what device you are using.

2) Now try browsing the market 'http://market.android.com' from a PC.

3) Locate an app you want (ensuring it is compatible with android 2.1) and click 'install' .

4) If the software is compatible with the scroll then you will get another window showing the scroll tablet that you are registered with.

5) click on the OK button. The app will automatically be sent to the tablet.

NB: If the tablet doesn't show up check the tablet is showing in your market profile

Hope this helps.
