Android Market and Browser Annoyance

Ok installing new apps is a bit of ........Pain to say the least....
My problem is this.
Open browser either Opera or the default one with the tablet.
Go to
market.android.com
see an app i want.
Click install
Some kindof box appears over the screen then on the webpage i think its the checkout box asking which version of android i click the box to select................the page just reloads!!!!!!!!
and im back to selecting install again......
Works on a browser in IE and Firefox on my ubuntu box.
Highly frustrating.......
Iv installed an apk via usb and worked fine but if anyone knows a reason for this would be great to know....as i feel im being taken around in circles on the webpage at least....
Thanks in advance..
