Hi

Is it possible to make it such that when you click a url link the new page opens in a seperate browser tab instead of displaying in the current window?

Cheers

Already a thread about this somewhere, I suggested just clicking with the middle button (Scroll wheel)

Or set up a middle click on the touchpad of the laptop and use that

Middle clicking a link opens a new tab everytime

Why not just fix it? Shouldn't need work-arounds.

Is it a forum-based problem? I saw somewhere that you got get browsers to do it automatically...

Aye, when they put out v3 of phpBB this was broken. There are fixes for it.

It works on the other forum I use regularly. I don't know what version of phpBB they use there though.

Compared to phpBB3, links in phpBB2 had a slightly different behaviour: When you clicked them, they opened a new window with the requested page. This was changed in phpBB3 for a couple of reasons, but one of the most important ones was the goal to achieve XHTML 1.0 Strict-validation for the whole board.

If you still want to get the same behaviour on your new phpBB3 board, there are a couple of small modifications have you to make, which this guide should hopefully explain in enough detail.
