Second scroll (first one was a present at xmas for a relative).
Mine turned up.
Differences so far.
Rom V1.00 (relatives was 0.94).
Main differences are between the two; more setting's in V1.00 (can't confirm them all, but certainly more networking options re: static ip | scan).
Initial finding's after first peek under the cover;
Wifi driver is AR6000.ko
Chipsit unknown as yet but is Atheros based.
This driver is also used in the Tmobile Pulse android phone and Huawaei U8100/U8110/U8120 tablets.
I've also stumbled across a 'init.goldfish.sh' which appears to be an init script for QEMU (cpu emulator) - I'm presuming this is for use when the OS was in developement.
Other interesting notes... init.rc contains references to;
bluez stack and binaries are available but disabled (possibility of soldering in a BT usb radio maybe)
tcc_dxb_service looks to be board / cpu related (must find out more)
nfsd is apparently there and called at startup (Makes you wonder why we'd need an nfs server but hey ho).
rild is there too, Unsure as to why this is as it's normally specific to GSM radio stacks. (might just blow it away after a backup and see what happens).
I wont post all the details of each proc and bin/daemon but there's plenty there and couple of surprises in regards to process timeout's which could be tweaked and memory maps.
I'll start some more detailed investigation later in the week.
