Thanks, Ive now come across another problem, renaming the old one to .old doesnt work, and copying the new one to /system doesnt work either

Then super manager is not using root permissions. is there an option in the menu to enable it?

downloaded the kindle application, it installs okay,opens and asks you to register to get started

Managed it using Terminal and SU

thanks, gonna reboot it and see if there is a big difference, apparently this is =1 in android 1.6 but not 2.1...

It has a slightly more updated build.prop, removes teh 3 phone apks, updates youtube (hopefully) installs the terminal emulator, installs astro and installs kinde

It might be but I know its been used on alot of 2.1 roms (including the streak till it was updated to 2.2) so its not doing any harm
