[GUIDE] How to factory reset the scroll

Postby Detection » January 6th, 2011, 6:01 pm

I have just received instructions from Storage Options on how to Factory Reset the scroll for any one who did not already know.

-------------------------------------------

To perform a factory reset, Power off and then turn on while holding down volume + key. Once the green man appears press home key, scroll to bottom option factory reset by pressing volume – key, then volume + key to execute. System will now reboot.

Note:
This will ONLY reset the user data and not the system Image of the device

Hi,

If i did the factory reset from the boot menu - will this still revert everything back to when i 1st had the scroll? even though i have rooted, renamed the phone related apk's & deleted the youtube.apk and installed a new one?

Thanks

(just trying to get the bigger picture with this device and android)

No, I think it only removes the "user data" part of the Scroll, it does not restore actual system files.

This is why I wanted Clockwork/Nandroid all up and running before touching any files :D

Once someone has backed up using ClockworkMod with a completely stock device, they can post their backup here and we can all have a stock Scroll again whenever we like

No they cant. Clockwork backs up all user data as well.
Just wait until someone (probably me at this rate) posts up stock system images

Detection can you update your first post to state that it will ONLY reset the user data and not the system Image of the device.

what is clockworkmod backing up - is it the whole image of the tab in its current state?
