Now that I have a working scroll with a recovery backup, Has any one found out why CWM does not work on 1.02 or 1.02s? or any idea of something we can try? as all the newbies (me included) might miss out on thing like the forum 2.2 update :(

Hardmaninc: Not sure if anyones managed it yet, but the possibility has been discussed on here. Where did you read it had been done? I might have had a blond moment and missed the post (if I had any hair that is!)

Employees are like mules. Some you stand in front of and coax them along with a carrot. Some you stand behind and kick them in the arse. The key to management is knowing which mules are which!

The problem is to get a working clockwork on a 10.2 device someone who has a 1.02 device needs to fix it :S
We cant do it if we dont have the thing. I didnt make the version in my first post it was provided by another member on here and made by teamtelechips you could ask them to have a look maybe?

you can run ubuntu in a chroot like on all android phones I guess? never tried it. I know there were people who wanted to get ubuntu running but it needed a new kernel if I remember correctly.

Warpedflash: I read somewhere that there is a version 3(?) of CWM, any possibility that the later version will work on the scroll?

I will do a hunt to see if i can find the link to the post. I have emailed Storeage option for a copy of the 1.02s firmware soon as i get it I will upload it. I think the main thing is if we can get Ubuntu netbook remix as this has the touch screen drivers built in. once i get the firmware I am going to have a play around with it :)

Hello,

I managed to resolve all the USB issues, and connected ok, including after the batch reboot.

I carried out the steps described in the first post, and it *appears* to be adding CWM ok, but when I restart into recovery mode it shows the menu as "Android system recovery <2e>" with only 4 selectable items.

There is no backup/recovery option, so it would seem that CWM isn't running. Any ideas? Thanks
Dave

Check for /system/etc/install-recovery.sh if it exists delete it, then flash clockwork again.

Thanks warpedflash.

Do I need to be root'ed to do that? Sounds like I might...

Where can I view those files - do I need a file manager app loading?

Thanks
